Touro University Worldwide offers several counseling and psychology degree programs through the university’s Edith Neumann School of Health and Human Services, Department of Psychology, and School of Business.
A Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy is offered by the Edith Neumann of Health and Human Services. The degree is intended for students seeking to make a difference in a wide variety of marriage and family relationships. The program offers three tracks: clinical track, non-clinical track, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling track. All three tracks require 54 credits of core courses. The clinical track requires practicum courses and a total of 500 practicum client contact hours. A total of 72 credit hours are necessary to complete this track. The non-clinical track does not require a practicum or clinical. The Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling track requires a minimum of four courses of licensed professional clinical counseling, six practicum courses and 500 total practicum client contact hours. A total of 82 credit hours are needed to complete this track. Graduates are prepared to gain Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure in California and most other states.
The School of Psychology offers a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in Psychology, and Doctor of Psychology in Human and Organizational Psychology.
The BA in psychology is geared for professionals who want to develop a greater understanding of human behavior and encourage a holistic methodology to mental health and well-being during treatment. The curriculum abides by the guidelines established by the American Psychological Association, and students learn about developmental psychology, learning psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, and experimental psychology. A total of 120 credit hours are needed for completion of the program. Students must select from six concentrations: industrial and organizational psychology, human services, child and adolescent psychology, elementary education, or secondary education.
The Master of Arts in Psychology is aimed at students seeking to advance their knowledge in psychology and pursue higher level positions. A total of 12 courses are required to complete the program, including nine core courses and three elective courses. Students learn about cognitive psychology, social psychology, research methods, learning theory, personality, and ethical practice. The program also places focus on applying research aspects to real-world situations. Students must select from three concentrations: media psychology, health psychology, and educational psychology.
The Doctor of Psychology in Human and Organizational Psychology provides students with the know-how and skills to classify themselves as leaders in the psychology field. The program assists in promoting a deeper understanding of organizational psychology and effective incorporation of the discipline in the workplace. The program is characterized by multiple steps, including classes in theory, research, and incorporating theory into practice, pre-dissertation, and dissertation. Students collaborate with a faculty dissertation chair and committee to compose to complete the proposal and dissertation. Students have the ability to personalize their education by selecting a topic to help narrow their research tasks and enable the development of abilities to apply research findings in actual solutions.
The School of Business offers an online Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, which involves applying psychological science to assisting individuals in organizations to improve functionality. Students learn how to assist organizations in identifying the connection between profitability and content and productive employees. The completion of 36 credit hours is needed for the degree. The curriculum includes nine core courses and three elective courses from the selected concentration. The concentrations include occupational health psychology, human resource management, and coaching and consulting. Students must also complete a capstone course at the end of the program.
